Joomla 3
EOLSupport ended on 17 August 2023
Joomla 3 has been discontinued for years and no longer receives security updates. We migrate to the current Joomla version with a clear plan, technical pre-check and safeguards.

EOLSupport ended on 14 October 2025
Joomla 4 has reached end-of-life (EOL)—the project no longer ships security updates. We review extensions, template and PHP and deliver the upgrade to the current version in a structured way.

Joomla 5 is still supported, but the maintenance window is closing: after October 2026 only security updates remain, and after October 2027 none at all. The path to Joomla 6 runs through the final 5.4 release as a bridge—we plan that with you in good time rather than under pressure.

Joomla 6 is the current release with the longest support horizon and requires PHP 8.3. Already on Joomla 6? Then we keep your site current. In the right care package, future major upgrades are included as well.
Update, upgrade or migration – what you actually need
Many enquiries reach us as “we want to update from Joomla 3 to 6”. What that almost always means is a migration. This is not pedantry: the term determines how much preparation, time and budget the work needs.
Update
Joomla 5.2 → 5.4
You stay within one major version and catch up on patches. Risk and effort are low, though a backup still applies. These updates simply run as part of ongoing maintenance.
Upgrade
Joomla 4 → 5 or Joomla 5 → 6
The major version changes. That brings the PHP version, template and extensions into play – which is why we check first and always work from a backup. An upgrade is plannable, but it is not one click.

I want to update from Joomla 3 to 6 – can that be done in one step?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding: moving from Joomla 3 to the current version is not an update but a migration across several stages along the official Joomla path. For you it stays one project with one quote – we run the intermediate steps in a single pass, with checks in between.
How long does a typical Joomla migration take?
It depends on scope, extensions and template. After the free analysis you get a realistic estimate—a standard migration usually takes a few days.
Can I stay on the same server with Joomla 3?
Often PHP and server requirements increase. We tell you upfront what is needed so there are no surprises.
Is Joomla 4 still safe if I do not want to upgrade yet?
No—Joomla 4 is EOL. Without official security updates from the project, risk increases over time. Upgrading to the current release is the sound approach; we work with you on the right path.
Can I jump straight from Joomla 4 to Joomla 6?
Not in one step. The official path runs through the final 5.4 release as a bridge: first bring Joomla 4 fully up to date, then move to Joomla 5.4, then to Joomla 6. For you it is one project—we handle the intermediate steps in a single pass.
I am on Joomla 5. How much time do I have?
Bug fixes for Joomla 5 end on 13 October 2026 and security updates on 12 October 2027. Your site will not suddenly stop working, but the maintenance window is closing. Joomla 6 is covered until October 2029, which is why it pays to plan the move rather than rush it.
What happens to my template after the migration?
It depends on the template. We check compatibility upfront and tell you honestly what is technically possible and sensible.
Will all my extensions (plugins/components) be carried over?
We check every extension for compatibility with the target version. Incompatible ones are flagged separately in the proposal so you can make an informed decision.
What does a Joomla migration cost?
